"you cannot trade "principle"...you can't incorporate that with watching the tape and trading the markets." With all due respect, I disagree with you once again. Perhaps you are thinking of a different definition of "principle" than one I am using. I am speaking of bases for characteristic behavior. You most certainly can incorporate them with the tape and trading the market. and while I may not be talking an exact hedge as in long a put long a call..etc... I am talking about hedging in terms of taking a compensatory measure to protect against loss.... Those of you that can afford to lose money can follow a mechanical system religiously and can afford the whipsaw should... I can not afford to be whipsawed and I made that very clear. So I have to use the tools I have available to work it out. I have some incredible tools that have become available to me lately. You know OJ...someone doesnt have to post his trades to be a damn good trader. Do you know John Luker? Can you say Kevin or TT are better than him? Because that is what you are saying and the fact that he doesnt post makes no difference. Tom can afford to lose 50% of the time I cant. Kevin can afford to be whipsawed in a tight neutral zone. I cant I refuse to say that Kevin, or TT, or Joe Blow for that matter is the best trader out there overall or has the best system. That doesnt minimize their accomplishments or their hard work as Kevin has taken offense at.....it simply leaves room for others who have worked just as hard and do just as well. To say Kevin or TT are the best for instance takes away from Jim, or Don, or John, the Lurker or anyone else. How would Kevin feel if I said DON was the best trader around with the best system. He already has taken offense just because I call his trading EDUCATED guesses as if that minimizes them. It doesnt. Sorry, I can't do that. to say someone's system cant be any better is also something I cant do. It doenst take away from what they have done or have accomplished. Saying something is an Educated Guess doesnt take away from the hard work taken to get to that EDUCATED guess. Obviously there are all kinds of educated guesses...some more educated than others. And to think that I am taking away from kevin or TT is wrong and it is beyond me how someone should take offense at that. It just means that the fastest way to do a disservice to someone is to say they dont need to do any more work on their system. and it does a disservice to those who follow it - I made this point to Ike once about people following his exaggerations. I have principles that I believe in and stand up for and will not let anyone deter me. and one more thing... since Kevin chose to make my personal emails public...Let me clarify what I was saying I said "quit sicing (spelling intentional) OJ on me" When people would say things that were so obviously ridiculous..such as THIS IS THE BEST THREAD etc etc on the IDEAS thread..there were some people that were joking around saying Ike was 'sicing' them on the particular individual. Well when I got an email from someone saying they EXACT same thing..I just popped into an email to Kevin. Then when I realized what I said I sent him another email within a minute or two clarifying what I meant. I do think what OJ was being ridiculous for the reasons I stated. that is my own personal opinion. He does exaggerate...remember the GOOD GRIEF THE SEMIS JUST DIED . I dont know whether OJ was exaggerating his feelings or not, but for me it is ridiculous to say anyone is the best trader on any SI thread or that there system is the best. I dont care who it is. But I didnt think Kevin was putting him up to it and I want to make that clear. I didnt appreciate kevin putting personal emails on this thread and I dont think he would appreciate if I did the same.
