Gottfried it's a mystery how it got set to gray scale though.

I am not sure what version of windows you are using, but for starters

Go into your install programs folder and look at install dates for when were the latest programs installed and see if anything was installed around the same time you started to have problems, this might give you a clue.

Another idea, if think back did you do anything different with your computer just prior to having the problem start.
