The supply and demand forces that drive prices go way beyond Iraq and Iran.

Note below that prices began rising early in the Bush administration, but went bust before Bush left office. Then after Obama came into office, they began rising again. And they began falling BEFORE Obama orchestrated an end to Iranian sanctions in 2016:



sanction on Iran, which were lifted by President Obama allowed Iran to sell oil again which increased supply and lowered gas and oil prices.

Do you even know the most recent sanctions on Iran, which are the only ones that reduced their oil exports, were imposed by both the EU and the US and originated while Obama was President? Still maintain sanctions were a plot by evil Republicans to push up oil prices? Of course you do.
