Two years ago when I had to actually USE my ACA policy to a major extent, I had a far different experience. My wife took me to the ER of our local hospital, they diagnosed kidney stones, with one in the tube between my kidney and bladder which was causing severe pain. They were able to get a good surgeon to perform a procedure the next day, and ultimately I needed two procedures, the second two weeks later on an outpatient basis, but the point is everything went smoothly, quickly, and just as importantly, was covered by my ACA Blue Cross policy.
