McCain gave the FBI the dossier long before the Clinton campaign began its funding. At that point the Russian stuff was already signed, sealed and delivered. We have no idea what new and cool things they learned after that point but whatever they found Hillary didn't use any of it against Trump. But Trump used emails stolen by Russia to attack Clinton.
