The swamp and regulations.

Back in day that AT&T and others were deemed to be working in the Public’s interest. There began an awareness/suspicion that might be a dream.

Some may recall that there was no wall plug-in for a telephone line. If one wanted telephone service, then a worker must visit your home and work 3 minutes (most residences) to connect you phone to the wall. AT&T advised that the “installer would arrive some time during X day. A worker once shared with me that he earned $130,000 per year because of the overtime prior to breakup..

Somehow the AT&T breakup seemed a positive for some customers.

In California FAA rules deemed the price of flying from LA to SF should be $50. An in state airline start-up began business and charged under $12. (In state the FAA could not set prices)
