Here is an explanation from the WSJ: Buyers include Pioneer Chairman I. Jon Brumley, who purchased 33,000 shares Nov. 14, at $30.94 to $31.13 a share. On the same day, Scott D. Sheffield, Pioneer's president, bought 15,800 shares and Kenneth A. Hersh, a director, bought 4,000 at $30.94 apiece. Does anyone have a clue about book value for this company?
