had met a gentleman over group dinner who survived pancreatic cancer for 17 years and is doing very well, looking healthy, and living happy to this day

combination of modern diagnostics and ancient treatment protocol

so at least one hit

steve jobs consulted w/ him but did not heed advice

my dad had fully recovered from stage iv prostate cancer (spread to the brain) within 90-days of first diagnosis, and lived well for 11 years and passed away from open-heart surgery complications 11 years later @ 88 after 30-days semi-coma / coma. the cancer had never returned.

the treatment protocol, according to the doctors who had allotted him 3-6 months, was a combination of, and i quote ...

(i) we have never seen this before
(ii) he doesn't want to die
(iii) he believes his work is not yet done
(iv) he is happy-go-lucky

the doctors had no other explanation and other than estrogen nothing was given to my dad, because nothing would have helped.
