Should Western Digital drop its arbitration claim in exchange for access to Fab 6 production, that would be indicative of just how hurting they are. It is no longer sufficient to repurchase if a settlement occurs, but only if an appropriate settlement occurs. Western Digital has no bargaining power whatsover, with respect to Fab 6 and beyond, and is at the complete mercy of Toshiba and their new partners. This is not a balance of power that typically leads to mutually beneficial terms.

Western Digital has a gun to it head, while saddled in huge debt. They will do whatever is required to live, even if it leaves them crippled.

It there are two assets I would not touch at the moment, WDC would be at the the top of my list, with Bitcoin second.
