Until that move occurs, (and I'm not sure that it ever will) I'm looking at it as a bargaining point to get sincere negotiating from the Palestinians negotiators.
I get the strategy behind the move, but I question whether we should even be involved.

Let the Israelis and the Palestinians figure it out on their own. If the Israelis need our help in defending against those who would "throw the Jews into the sea," then yeah, we should help out our ally. But when it comes to naming capitals or declaring holy cities or what not, we should stay out of that.
