Neolib,
If the SS Trust Fund lends to the general fund which spends it, do explain why the SS Trust Fund shouldn't be paid back from the general budget.
You're trying to obfuscate the issue. Of course the mythical "trust fund" is being paid back from the general budget. That was never up for debate.
Its people like you who try to confuse the issue so they can say SS and MC are the problem. BS!
SS and Medicare now make up 60% of the federal budget. That's up from 50%. Meanwhile the federal budget is at an all-time high of $4T/year, and it continues to grow.

When you have the overall budget growing, and you have entitlement spending growing as a percentage of that overall budget, that's a double-whammy. All other spending gets crowded out. Even military spending.

But just keep telling yourself, nope, no problem, no problem at all. Entitlement spending can grow to 100% of the budget, and you'd still be like "nope, no problem."
