Funk,I bought the directpc dish from hughes,the 400kbps varies according to demand.It was great for downloading large files.
Never could get it to work right on puter w/cyrix cpu,changed to
other puter w/intel cpu and it was ok.I have 2 phone lines,2isp and
2 56k modems.I compared 56k modem to the dish and the dish was little faster when recieving data from itrader and killkey but the problems
increased.After working w/hughes tech support many times came to conclusion that problem was their server changing the speed of my data
according to the load on their system.Back to using 2 56k modems and
the chickens have a new roost.
If anyone is using the dish for daytrading,please help.
