....so what is the POSITIVE diagnosis for shingles?......some don't get the rash.

I have gout which I diagnosed..............the only POSITIVE diagnosis is to examine blood under a scope from the inflamed joint (ie....during an attack) and confirm uric acid crystallization in the joint fluid. The doctor never did this and yet prescribed 4 drugs...............two for pain (Naproxen and Prednisone) one for an attack (Colcrys) and one to lower uric acid in blood to prevent attacks (Allopurinol)....................the Naproxen didn't kill the pain..........the Prednisone is very strong but rough stuff, the Colcrys gave me the shits but the Allopurinol worked and has prevented any off my feet attacks for 8+ years....................you should be thankful that you have enough on the ball to make some rational decisions about your own health............ most do not.
.............and a lot of people can tell you horror stories about doctors.......nothing unique there.......what do you expect?.....didn't you know any premeds as an undergraduate?...........the stories I could tell
