Right, Reggie. Maybe if Microsoft paid the TV guys to put their stuff in, they might bite, then again, maybe not. What makes you think they're dumber than John Malone? You think they follow the news through Microsoft court briefs like you do?

Of course, the cost of embedding some kind of webtv thing in the new HDTV sets is marginal when they're set to sell for thousands. The idea that Microsoft is going to assert its manifest destiny here is questionable, though. The thing about the settop boxes is, most people aren't going to be going out spending thousands on a new tv in the next year or so, not me for sure. I'd guess the boxes will have a bigger market for at least several years. Looking beyond that, who can say?
