One can dream about crashes too and that is how many permabears operate. Now I realize that crashes have taken place in the financial markets whereas single payer has only been talked about, but never realized. But things can and do change when social conditions are ripe. It is not out of the realm of possibility that a presidential candidate in the future supports single payer and gets elected partly on that platform. A strong backlash is coming and I can foresee strong Democratic gains in the House and Senate propelling a left wing agenda in the future. What looks unrealistic and impossible today has a way of becoming quite possible and likely moving forward.
