Gunther,

I agree with your analysis. I WAS worried a bit about market access until the WCOM announcement. WCOM could have picked someone else's product, even inferior, pushed it, and FTEL would be left on the sidelines. I still worry about something like this happening a little bit.

The part that worries me the most is the competition. Atin made some good points. We don't have to worry much about telephony that requires a computer - that introduces too much delay into the process inherently. FTEL DSP chips and hardware are the best approach. But, and this is my weak area, I think that what FTEL has done could be duplicated without too much effort - not many months by someone like Lucent. I haven't examined the patent applications. I'm not going to. I do this part time - and haven't got into the weeds like that since graduate school. Where there's a lot of honey, I expect to see a lot of bees or other creatures eventually.

The only other category that concerns me is the "Act of God", or Congress, area that would change the rules to make things hard for internet telephony in general. At the moment, I think an act like that has as much chance as the old encryption chip that the Clinton administration was pushing. But, we'll just have to wait and see about that.

Bottom line: FTEL meets MOST answers well. People who understand its position tend to value it more highly than those who don't.

But we better see earnings sometime soon. Bob.
