Gill v. Whitford challenges the redistricting of the Wisconsin Legislature. Lower-level courts ruled that the Republican gerrymandering is so extremely partisan that it deprives Wisconsin voters of their constitutional rights to equal protection and free speech.
The case is now before the Supreme Court on appeal. The Supreme Court’s decision will impact elections nationwide for decades to come — both for state legislatures and for Congress.
