Saying something isn't true now because you think something in the future will change it is a really dumb position for you to take.
Sounds like the kind of "logic" that surrounds the media hype over the debt ceiling.

"We gons run outta moneh! Guvmint is bankrupt! We cant pays da billz!"

Same old story over and over again, yet in the end the debt ceiling always gets raised.

Eventually the future becomes so predictable, it almost becomes an inevitability.
