I agree completely: keep the same rule for all in-bounds calls... maybe even for out-of-bounds/sideline calls, but breaking the goal line plane while ball firmly grasped in two hands before hitting the ground should be a TD, IMO and wouldn't be all that big a deal to change if all other aspects of the "reception" rule remain as they are.
