Nothing new. C.Wright Mills "The Power Elite" More than 50 years ago, Mills' fear was that the middle class was becoming "politically emasculated and culturally stultified," which would allow a shift in power from the middle class to the strong social elite.


Then we had the 60s. Economy going strong. The youth was politically alienated. The 1% aka The Power Elite took the country from them.


When they woke up in the 2000s it had gone.
