Something of interest I figured out recently about Yahoo charts - they add (discount past) dividends to stock prices, so all these 5 year and particularly 'max" charts look much nicer than reality:
(i) from 1982, e.g., cap gain appears to be greater than in reality;
(ii) this deception also smooths out the drops.
