I'm using the current (non-beta) QuotesPlus and Internet Explorer 4.0.

In Windows Help, I found "associating, file types with programs" (or "programs, associating with file types". I followed the sparse instructions there and eventually created a new file type I called "QuotesPlus Data" with file extension QPL, ACTION set to view, and OPEN WITH set to a full path to the QP_VIEW.EXE program.

With Explorer, I now go to the QuotesPlus homepage, pick Subscription Files, and enter my internet login and password (which you receive on a separate sheet in your package).

Then, one at a time, I select the links for the daily files I need. If you have set your file association properly, you will not get Windows complaining about not knowing how to view the file or wanting you to enter a path to save it. Instead, the QP_VIEW program will intercept the file, put it where it wants it, and when done it will remind you to run Update Database. Get all of the daily files you are missing, then run the QuotesPlus Update Database program.
