An article in either today's NYT 's or the Korean Herald reported that
Samsung has a market cap of $ 2.4 billion which equates to the cost
of one of their new chip facilities. The article also mentioned that
one reason for the low market cap was the $ 7.9 billion of debt on its
balance sheet. Does it make sense for someone to buy Sumsung sell off
most of its operations using the proceeds to pay off debt and end up with a world class semiconductor company for next to nothing ?
