Just a thought but EFO Holdings may bring far more to the table than current shareholders can. For instance exposure to the U.S. Y2K market and investing community.

recently, I've tried bringing the attention of CGI Group to investors on the main Y2K thread here on SI. In spite of CGI's 1000% gain over 12 months and its outstanding fundamentals going forward, it was met with a collective yawn. This is understandable - Americans have many options when it comes to Y2K investing and can't be bothered with a Canadian stock which is more difficult to reaearch.

If LGS hopes to make some sort of inroads in the American market, they will need some heavyweights in their corner. I am not familiar enough with EFO to judge whether they are hevayweights or not, but I suggest that this is the key reason why LGS entered this transaction.

I have been plesantly surprised to see that LGS has done very well since the deal. I believe that American interests may be playing an important role in that.
