Depends on a number of things however if you currently have windows installed, have sufficient ssd/disk space and meet the mint sys reqs then simply installing mint will make the dual boot record automatically and handle all boot operations. Dual booting win & win or other OSes can be more involved. I currently run a triple boot mint 18.3. 17.3 and win 7 machine.
