Thanks for your response. Agree with your analysis of the market. The SEA situation will get resolved. However, the impact to earnings will need to be determined. One interesting thing about sub $1000 PC's is that they usually put low capacity hard drives in them. I believe that most buyers of these PC's will either be forced to upgrade their hard drives, or buy ZIP/JAZ in order to gain more storage capacity. So, in some ways I think the sub 1000 PC market will help increase IOM's sales.

To my knowledge Imatron doesn't have any other CT scanner companies as competitors. They have the patents on the ultra fast CT technology. Only the utlra fast scanner can take pictures of the heart and arteries. The conventional scanners are to slow for this purpose. Imatron's main problem at this time is gaining wide acceptance by the medical community, and getting the insurance companies to pay for the scan. The cost at this time is $395. Have you used the utlra fast scanner in your practice? If yes, what do you think of it?
