Evolution is about making babies. It is not about the ability of a species or an individual to make "toys" or scientific breakthroughs. The fact that someone is smart, rich, successful, etc. is not a sign of "higher evolution" or "superior genes". Thinking that way is just typical human-centric hubris that commonly corrupts "logical" thinking...for examples: the earth is the center of the universe, god made man in his image, animals were just put on earth to serve us as tasty snacks, people with dark skin are inferior, etc...

The human "winners" instead are simply the men that sired the most children and the women that birthed the most children (assuming that they managed to raise those children to child bearing age). And similar when comparing on a species vs species basis. In other words, the evolutionary winners may be the stupidest, least successful (by human elitist measures), creatures/humans imaginable.

Who is "winning" here?

or here? (this one surprised me and seems to buck the trend...highly educated, low income, minority females maybe are popping out babies like crazy<g>)
