Don here are some tips from my dealings with Comcast.

1. You can swing your best deal if you are moving locations for living. That might be because they actually believe that you have new and better choices. (ATT/DirecTV)

4 years ago, I got the same rates as a new subscriber for 1 year because Comcast knew what those others were offering our community. (we moved about 50 miles away) Even got the $200 Visa card! It then went up some at 18 months, and then over $220 at 24 months.

2. I waited one month to get offers from ATT/DirectV to be prepared to argue.

3. You can save time if you tell the automated zombie that your call is to cancel service. No wait times and you get directly to the people that are authorized to deal.

4. Got another 2 years deal similar to yours. About $60 savings and HBO for 6 months. Could not get the Visa card this time. :--(

5. Agent told me to call for sure at 2 year anniversary. No point in waiting. They will deal or they may not depending on business at the time.

6. Prepare with a non cable email address to be safe.

We probably will cut the cord in 2 years and just keep internet. I've owned the modem and router since day 1.
