No, I don't know much about Yiannopoulos, except that I find him pretty disgusting and disdainful. He's a shock jock. That's his schtick. I'm a moderate: conservative on economics and liberal on social issues. So I don't have much in common with extremists on either side of the aisle. As for advocating child rape, I didn't know Yiannopoulos did that. Did he?

And even if he did, is that a good reason to burn Berkeley down and hurt people who wanted to attend his speech? Are the liberals really so unimaginative as to not be able to find more productive ways of protesting someone as despicable as Yiannopoulos? I can come up with 15 ways to protest that would have been more effective and productive. Instead, antifa and the liberals find exactly the way to turn off all moderates and even some of the sympathetic conservatives. If you want to win again, you need to find a way to bridge differences, instead of vilifying people who you don't agree with. None of us should be the enemy of each other in this country. We are one country and we need to get back to civil discourse again. Safe spaces and getting triggered and other forms of intolerance is the real enemy here. Our kids need to be taught how to "disagree without being disagreeable", as Obama quite rightly said one time.
