Somewhat smaller first week gains were put on the board by the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI), up 2.90%, the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI), up 2.61%, and the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI), up 3.38%. Week One honors go to BIOADD’s portfolio, rocketing up 14.29%. Impressive, as well, was the performance of second place THID’s portfolio, up 13.16%, and third place JULIUS’ portfolio, up 12.34% . At Friday's close, all 62 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 9 closing up more than 10% for the first week of trading. Also noteworthy, of the 62 portfolios, 56 beat the NBI and 57 beat the SPSIBI. The 230 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 6.07% and a median YTD gain of 4.88%. Below is the Top Ten list.
