Well, I ended up buying a Dell XPS 8930 desktop from the local Costco. Actually, I bought two. I purchased the first one on Thursday. I tried to set it up on Friday night and found that it was making a very loud clicking noise... Sounds like one of the fans was going out or clicking against something. It was essentially Dead on Arrival.

I took it back and got a replacement this morning, and I'm just trying to set it up now. It's much quieter and seems to be running well. It's just now going through its initial setup which is involving a 3 gigabyte Windows update that is being installed right now.

Hopefully things will go better than the first time.

Thanks all for your help and advice!

Best wishes,

I2
