SCANA's contribution is making more of D's revenues based on regulated ute -- they'd become more "traditional" regulated ute than they have been in the past... the rest is all stuff D was doing anyways. In fact, they "predicted" 10% annual divvy increases some weeks before the SCANA deal was even announced. D had the Cove Pt. LNG nearing completion waaaaay before this deal -- and make no mistake, exporting LNG from the East Coast will be very profitable for early players as they tend to lock up very long contracts (which D has already done)... SCANA was all about regulated ute add to the mix, nothing more. I have no idea if Buffett even knew about it, let alone was bidding. Oh, and D is getting a pretty good price for SCANA...

A quick Google search on : "dominion buying SCANA" kicked up a lot of stories chalk full of details on the deal.
