Yup, that is their long game--make big promises, divide and conquer. Will Toshiba and Intel allow that to happen?

All of these guys have set up fabs and plants in China, but they may well be better off if they can shift their investments to India. Equally large and with some great universities and enormous math and computer science talent. But not as monolithic as China. Nor, I think, are they as ambitious in the same way. At least, that is my impression.

I know that Samsung has been investing more in India over the past few years. But their sunk costs in China are pretty large, as are Sandisk's with their plant in Shanghai.
