If MU didn't have so much debt and paid a dividend... which they are a LONG way from being able to do so

They aren't that far away. They just paid down over $2b of debt. They should be net cash positive by either Q3 or Q4 of this fiscal year (ends in August). And they will get debt down to around $7 or 8b, which for a company with $25b of revenue is perfectly acceptable. Unless the bottom falls out of the DRAM market in the next 12 months, they are likely to start a dividend in 12-16 months, IMHO.
