What a bunch of “shithole” portfolios we have in the 2018 Charity Contest! At Friday’s close, the Contest median was only up a measly 8.28% YTD (vs. up 7.04% YTD a week ago), not even doubling the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI), up 4.95% YTD (vs. up 2.90% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI), up 5.73 % YTD (vs. up 2.61% YTD a week ago) or the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI), up 5.18% YTD (vs. up 3.38% YTD a week ago).
Mocking all the losers is first place STEVEL’s portfolio, up 17.66% YTD, as GHMM’s portfolio, up 15.88% YTD, and JULIUS’ portfolio, up 15.47% YTD, keep the second and third place seats warm.
At Friday's close, 60 of the 62 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 44 beating the NBI and the same 44 beating the SPSIBI.
The 230 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 6.87% and a median YTD gain of 5.71%.
