Yes, the way I have seen it all my life is the Republican party is the harbor for three groups of people: criminals, mentally disturbed and the ignorant.
And this makes sense in that half the county fits in one of those three categories. Try and name just one Republican senator who is level headed. There is not one. And remember the only presidential nominee who made any sense at all, Huntsman, could only garner 1% of the vote.
And after the Republican party raised one nominee after another to the #1 spot in the polls like Cain, Bachman, etc, when everyone got a good look at them even the Republicans knew they wouldn't work and so they tried another one until they settled on Romney whom they hated, but was sort of normal if you forget his crazy beliefs about gold tablets.
Just compare Republican senators with Democratic senators. One after the other Democratic senators and house members, are reasoned, while the Republican senators and most house members all maintain one or more of the above characteristics.
Not one Republican presidential nominee I can ever remember would make it to first base in the Democratic party.
I never could figure out how anyone could abide the Republican party let alone choose it over the Democratic party. How many FDR's, JFK's, George McGovern's, Adlai Stevenson's, Obama's or Jimmy Carter's, etc has the Republican party produced?
