The only requirement to be in the Republican party is to parrot the party line which is racist , mean, ethnocentric and controlled by the oligarchs who are intent on stealing as much money as they can from the nation and especially the poor; and as seen on FOX news every day and that every Republican uses to fool the people. Cheney had standing instructions that FOX news was to be turned on every hotel he was in.

I have to disagree with you on one fact I think you have posted several times regarding how much Reagan increased the deficit. I am pretty familiar with that statistic.

He increased it 500%, not 300%. Carter was running 50 billion deficits. which seems quaint today. When Reagan was elected he did two main things that increased the deficit to 250 billion a year.

He increased defense spending by a 100 billion a year, which was really used to justify a pas through authority for huge defense contracts to the military industrial complex which was part of his base; and he cut taxes on the rich by 100 billion a year.

Those deficits ran for all eight years and Bush sr for another four. Together they added three trillion to the debt in their 12 years.

Republicans created their own news that protects them from facts.
How many republicans know Reagan nearly tripled the debt or Bush doubled it?
How many know the labor participation rate fell dramatically under Bush but they only talked about it under Obama?
