The rest of the country has just as many racists and always had. It just didn't get expressed as much in the old days because there were fewer blacks. Look at Trumpety's Dad, a second generation NYer and a member of the KKK.

The second Klan that arose in the early 20th century was not only a southern phenomenom. It was all over the country.
