Slate Editor Saw Trump Confidentiality Agreement With Stormy Daniels

The porn star at the center of a scandal over an alleged sexual encounter with Donald Trump in 2006 reportedly provided a copy of her nondisclosure agreement to the online magazine Slate, despite White House denials of any hush money, The New York Times reports. The bombshell claim that Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, arranged a $130,000 payment just before the 2016 election to Stephanie Clifford, who performs under the name Stormy Daniels, was met with denials from Cohen and the White House on Friday. But Slate’s editor in chief, Jacob Weisberg, told the Times that Clifford forwarded him a draft amendment to the original nondisclosure agreement. In it, Clifford was reportedly referred to by the pseudonym “Peggy Peterson.” Two other parties identified as “David Dennison” and “David Delucia” were included in the agreement on the other end of negotiations. Clifford had reportedly promised to send Weisberg the original paperwork but she inexplicably stopped responding to his messages. A statement purportedly written by Clifford but provided by Cohen after the scandal broke said the “rumors” about “hush money” were “completely false,” as were the claims of a sexual encounter.
