i agree completely with your trepidation;
not only MU but alot of them have been impossible
to call (or put..)

my post was a delayed response to ag, (and the intel
query last week about a straddle)a general earnings
alert. i should have said "speaking of disappointments"
not puts, to avoid the impression i thought puts in order
here. at the lows, you are right; how much is built in,
how much is actually even a factor in the climate of turmoil
remains to be seen, not called (or put...)

thanks for the history; i wish we could all save hits by
acknowledging those of others before, and save each other
that particular pleasure. i have become a very good listener
lately...

as for options: i still feel the oex puts
are the purest play. i will watch carefully futures trading,etc.
tonight, but, like you, i am wary. there are simply too many
variables at work with individual issues: the vagaries
of the world at large only compound and/or cloud internal
weaknesses, etc.

i have to stick with the index.
