Thanks for the try anyway. I had done the same thing before you (kinda tough to think of the right search terms for that factoid). I'm going to see if I can dig up a WSJ or NYT from Dec 25/26, since they always seem to mention it in their review of Dec 24 trading.

FWIW, the tradition started as a "morale booster" right after the crash of 1929. The song is not a Christmas song, its title is something like "Keep Her Alive" or something like that.

Thanks again. Maybe we have some current or ex NYSE dwellers who'd know?
