RAMP NETWORKS: Low cost, fast Internet access for SoHo users

On January 27th US technology start-up Ramp Networks will be launching
into Europe with its family of easy to use, fast internet access devices
supporting ISDN and Modem connectivity for home users and growing small
businesses.

The company's WebRamp products have already won awards in the US
because of their low cost and ease of use, developed specifically to
meet the needs of the small business community. Easy to install for
non-technical users, the WebRamp includes built-in hub, router and ISDN
adapter. Alternatively, the modem versions of WebRamp include hub,
router and support for 1, 2 or 3 external modems.

Ramp Networks is privately held and is backed by more than $21 million
in venture capital, including a recent equity investment by Compaq. Ramp
also has an agreement to license remote access technology and engage in
ongoing joint product development with Compaq.

In addition to its launch into Europe, Ramp Networks will announce new
IP Tunnelling Support for its WebRamp products enabling users to
leverage the Internet for remote access, benefit from secure wide area
communications, support multi-protocol routing and to use affordable
analogue lines and low cost local calls.
