I agree there has been a recent rise in the relative strength of this group - BUT - I see it as being very short lived. At present selected small caps are the only areas of any strength - and small caps can not lead the market. So, I'm afraid the only trend , overall will be down. When small caps are leading , and big caps are lagging, I have a difficult time believing in anything but the end of the bull run. It would be highly unusual for this to continue.
