the magazine is god-sent
as to now japan doing poorly, am wondering relative where and relative to what period of its history
seems to me japan is doing great on both relative scores, and trending to do better
admittedly some societies, such as that of brazil, but not hong kong, may crater under similar conditions
the amazing thing about hong kong is how the society came through the SARS episode, where work essentially stopped for 6 months
second most wonderful thing about hong kong is how we failed to score a budget deficit even when we projected a budget deficit
third most astounding thing about hong kong is how when we are supposedly in a demographic crisis and still be in a bull market of astounding endurance
am going to wager that any society with lengthening longevity would suffer an economist / bbc demographic crisis even if ameliorated by daily net inflow of productive immigrants - just do the math
