Sdgla, estimates for California's pension obligations change with the wind. I'm pretty sure that the government is understating these obligations.

But that doesn't factor into the budget, which only counts revenues and expenses for the current year. And right now, California is running a budget surplus.

That could change in the near future, but as of now California's fiscal situation is quite stable.
