Well good Del,

I really don't know much about professor Hakeem. I do believe that many people of the world did a bunch of horrible things during the rein of terror known as the "Third Reich". It wouldn't suprise me at all that Catholics did some bad things too.

I will say this... everyday there are literally thousands of wonderful cheritable things being done by people of faith in order to make the lives of others better.

In my neck of the woods we have an organization, (I sometimes help with) called "Stand up for Kids", which is helped a great deal by a local Catholic church. Night after night volunteers are out there on the street providing food for needy runaway teenagers.

This is not to say that Atheists don't do allot of wonderful cheritable things too. It's just that on the whole, I bet the churches help out quite a bit more. Atheists should understand and recognize this. To deny this, is to deny the truth IMHO.

You spoke of people who say "annoying silly little prayers". I think you should understand to them these annoying silly little prayers are only meant in the most harmless way by most people of faith.

Probably the same things which motivate you to bring up Hakeem and the disasters of the Catholic church during Hitlers rein, are also what motivates them to say a little prayer from time to time.

We as a society need more tolerance about everyones belief's. Whether they be religios, Atheists, or Sun Worshipers. Turning another cheek and understanding these things is something I believe we could do much better.

Religion or lack or it is a very personal experience.

No minds will ever be changed one way or another here.

Michael
