Wait. Sort of. The Giants *got* Tarkenton from Minnesota where he was known as a scrambler. My father used to say Fran lived in our town in the suburbs of Atlanta when we were there in 1964, so he was my guy. Of course the Giants traded him *back* to Minnesota by the time the Giants played those two years in the Yale Bowl in New Haven where I ushered (riding my bike there in all weather and spending my hard earned quarters on pennants that I still own).
