Yes, and the back story is a bunch of oligarch's actually hired Reagan for his acting ability and gave him a script to do just that.

He started by laying waste to the air traffic controls. I remember clearly saying myself when they went on strike, "big mistake".

Reagan was looking for a union to make an example of and was going to use all his power to squash them.

If you look at a chart you will see how the union membership started to fall under Reagan and a perfect correlation to a decline in the middle class; and the Republicans have been repeating that success ever since.

Union membership before Reagan was something like 35% and is now down to about 6% I think.
