Think about it, everyone of the South's Republican senators is just terrible. Perdue, Cotton, Cruz, Cornyn, McConnell, Paul, Kennedy, Cassidy, Wicker, Cochran, Isakson, Inhofe, Lankford etc.
There are exceptions. Though they are swimming against themselves on some occasions and definitely against much of their electorate. Lindsay Graham and Scott from South Carolina, while clearly southern senators in your policy mold, are a bit more independent. One of the North Carolina senators, name escapes me, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, ah, yes, Burr, is a bit of an independent. Tennessee's Corker, etc. But they are all southern conservatives. |
