I got a morphine drip while in the ER and was grateful for it.

But having seen firsthand how oxy damaged a man and his entire extended family as well as some friends, I was pissed at the ease with which this doctor offered me a prescription for it. If I hadn't had personal experiences with it, I might have taken it and destroyed myself like hundreds of thousands (perhaps millions?) of others have over the last couple of decades. For what? Yeah, I felt some pain during the two days after leaving the hospital, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle with OTC drugs and plenty of sleep and liquids. But if I had had the script in hand, I might well have filled it.

No thanks.
